First Visit

When we first heard the name Hell Yeah Gluten Free, we felt an instant jolt of excitement. Edgy, bold, and crystal clear—we had high hopes. But it wasn’t just the name that got us. It was the message on their website:

“Gluten free doesn’t have to suck. We’re more than just a bakery—we’re part of a community bound together by the shared experience of exclusion. Everyone should be able to indulge, but we’re part of a system where not everyone can. We’re working to change that.”

Finding food that doesn’t suck is rare in the twintolerant world (if you know, you know). But after a bit of menu-stalking, we were sold—they had gluten-free and vegan options.

So one Saturday (early for us, late by bakery standards), we made our way to a tucked-away spot in Inman Park. The parking was tight, and the storefront was hidden in the back of a small business complex—but we had arrived.

💡 Twintolerant Tip 1: Get there early. The line had already formed.

As we waited, there was this unspoken vibe—we were standing with our people. No menu anxiety. No cross-contamination panic. Just giddy anticipation for baked goods we could actually eat.

Inside, the open kitchen and glass counter displays felt like a pastel fever dream: colorful, sparkly, and clearly labeled.

💡 Twintolerant Tip 2: They sell out. Fast. (Refer back to Twintolerant Tip1)

The staff were warm, welcoming, and totally ready for first-timer/allergen questions.

💡 Twintolerant Tip 3: Gluten-free + vegan options are limited, but they don’t miss. It’s quality over quantity, period.

We went full sampler mode—donuts, biscuits, cinnamon rolls, pop-tarts… even noticed a few frozen goodies and savory turnovers to grab at a later date. But the star of the show? The Vegan Double Chocolate Donut. Moist cake, gooey center, and a glossy icing that dreams are made of.

Hell Yeah Gluten Free isn’t just a bakery—it’s a safe space with sparkle. One of the only dedicated gluten-free bakeries in Atlanta, and easily one of our all-time favorites.

Cakes

As proud stans of Hell Yeah Gluten Free, we ordered a cake for our mom’s birthday—her first since going gluten-free. The process was foolproof: pick your flavor, size, icing, and sprinkles.

With just one vegan option (chocolate), we went for a two-layer vegan chocolate cake with dairy-free vanilla icing, topped with rainbow sprinkles and edible glitter. There wasn’t an option for writing or extra customizations, but honestly? It didn’t need it. The final look was simple, clean, and playfully whimsical—a total crowd-pleaser for our twintolerant crew and our “normal” fam alike. No birthday will be the same again.

This cake also hit deeper than expected—it stirred something emotional in both of us.

One question that always lingers (usually while we’re skipping yet another wedding dessert) is: What kind of wedding cake will we even be able to eat? Not that either of us are there yet... but still, it’s a real thought.

For a while, we’d resigned ourselves to the idea that we wouldn’t get a real wedding cake. That we’d serve something “normal” for the crowd and settle for a tiny, tailored, probably-not-delicious option for ourselves.

But honestly—no one deserves that. Especially not on that day.

When we tried this cake, we both welled up. For the first time, we felt it: we’ll have a delicious wedding cake—whenever that day comes.

Maybe this is what we’ve been waiting for:

The man. The cake.

And now… we’re just waiting on one.

💡 Twintolerant Tip 4: NEW in 2025 (total game changer): Same-day online ordering + pickup is now available - place your order online and pickup by store close to make sure they hold your faves. (NOTE: Twintolerant Tip 2 still applies:online orders sell out fast, so set those alarms.)
