Gut-Trust Scoring Criteria
The breakdown

📖 Menu Clarity: Is it easy to find allergy-friendly options? Are allergens clearly labeled?

1 - Zero labels, chaos reigns.

3 - Some labels, but vague or inconsistent.

5 - Full allergen key + dedicated GF/DF sections.

👩‍🍳 Staff Knowledge & Attitude: Do they actually know what gluten is? Do they care, or roll their eyes?

1 - Confused stares. Possibly dangerous.

3 - Tries their best, but not totally confident.

5 - Confident, informed, and warm. Allergy angels.

🔄 Substitution Flexibility: Can you tweak dishes without getting shamed? Are there swaps that actually work?

1 - “We can remove the bread... that’s it.”

3 - Some flexibility but limited options.

5 - Full customization + thoughtful alternatives.

Cross-Contamination Awareness: Are they careful in the kitchen? Or just sweeping crumbs off the plate?

1 - No idea what that even means.

3 - Some procedures but not consistent.

5 -Serious protocols, separate prep areas, GF fryer, etc.

😋 Taste & Presentation: Does the allergy-safe version actually taste good? Or is it a sad salad?

1 - Bland, dry, clearly an afterthought.

3 - Okay, but could use seasoning or effort.

5 - Delicious. Would eat again. Allergy who?

Vibe & Inclusivity: Do you feel welcome — or like a burden in a cute outfit?

1 - Judgy looks and zero support.

3 - Neutral. You're tolerated.

5 - You're seen, accommodated, and celebrated.

🍽️ Overall

- Hard Pass 🙅(6 pts) - It’s not me, its you. Food allergies meet confusion, judgment, and tasteless afterthoughts.

- Chronically Cautious 🤔 (7 - 24 pts) - Some awareness, shaky execution — food allergies get a half-hearted seat at the table so ASK YOUR QUESTIONS.

Gut Goals 🙌 (25-30 pts) - Allergy-safe, delicious, and welcoming — where you're not just accommodated, you're celebrated!
